The Domesday Record
A bookseller in York gave Grant and Larae the run of a locked storeroom where he was
warehousing books that he didn't feel were worth having on display. One of several they
purchased was an 1809 reprint of The Domesday Record. I have scanned the pages which
outline the holdings of William de Perci. Each file is 107-118k in size. The
discolorations at the edge of the pages is a matter of age. The pages themselves are rough
cut. One interesting point is that the discolorations in the center of the pages are
actual indentations pressed into the page by the type of press that was used. |
